It has been too long since I’ve posted a new offering. I was sidetracked by some circumstances and it has taken me a while to get my focus back. But my problems don’t compare to those suffering the environmental circumstances in and around the beautiful Los Angeles, California. For those of us with family or friends or coworkers there, it is all too real a reminder of the fragility of things. The worry from seeing updates on the news or social media is bad enough. The thought of being in it or near enough to deal with the smoky, ashy air reminds me of New York City in the hours and days following 9/11. I’m worried sick about my son and his girlfriend. I’m worried about this country and the fallout of climate change. But no matter, now is the time to act.

I and several friends donated yesterday to the Los Angeles Fire Department. I urge anyone reading this to do so as well, or to any or all organizations you feel would be most helpful.
